Carshawnda, 33, a pregnant mother from Chicago, spoke out after she and her two children were attacked by more than 10 students while walking home from Orville Bright Elementary School.
As she tried to lead her children across the street to avoid danger, the group followed and suddenly attacked.
Her 9-year-old son was punched repeatedly in the head and face, knocking him to the ground.
Carshawnda rushed to protect him but was dragged onto the grass, had her hair pulled, kicked in the back and ribs, and stomped on while lying on the ground.
Her young daughter watched in fear, frozen and unable to act.
Both mother and son were taken to Trinity Hospital in serious condition.
