A Lady Knows When to Leave the Table
There comes a point in life when a woman realizes that her presence is no longer required. A lady knows when to leave the table—not out of defeat, anger, or resentment, but because she values her peace more than proving a point.
Lately, I've put my mind on rewind.
Every song.
Every script.
Every event.
Every task.
Every memory.
I've replayed it all and examined what mattered, what didn't, and what deserves my energy moving forward.
The truth is, I am busy building my own future.
People continue to ask me about this player, that player, this celebrity, or that situation. My answer is simple: the NBA doesn't hold my attention the way it once did. I don't know half of these players anymore, and when something no longer inspires me, I step away from it.
As for Victor Wembanyama, he's just another NBA player to me. His uniqueness comes from being a young star from France, but beyond that, I have no personal connection. I don't know him, and I have no desire to. Whatever attention surrounded his arrival in Las Vegas years ago was never my story to tell.
I've moved on.
And for that, I am grateful.
Life has a way of filling empty spaces. Sometimes what we think is a void turns out to be room for something better. I am thankful that new people, new opportunities, and new experiences have entered my life. They have allowed me to redirect my focus where it belongs.
So I refuse to narrate other people's journeys.
They are free to be the best versions of themselves, and I am free to be the best version of me.
What fascinates me is this:
If people truly believe I was never real, then everything I accomplished must have been imaginary too.
Every prediction.
Every project.
Every sacrifice.
Every success.
Every struggle.
If none of it was real, then why does it continue to matter?
Why should I keep explaining myself?
Why should I do more?
At some point, you stop arguing with people determined to misunderstand you.
You simply continue walking.
I've learned that silence is often more powerful than noise.
Some people perform for an audience.
Others move in silence.
I choose silence.
I choose peace.
I choose purpose.
And when the time comes, a lady knows exactly when to leave the table.
