Pope Francis continues to gradually improve as he recovers from bilateral pneumonia at Rome's Gemelli Hospital, according to the Holy See Press Office on Sunday evening.
He followed the Spiritual Exercises of the Roman Curia via video link from Gemelli Hospital, which began on Sunday afternoon in the Paul VI Hall and are being led by the Preacher of the Papal Household, Fr. Roberto Pasolini, OFM Cap.
In the morning, the Pope received a visit from Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and the Substitute for the Secretariat of State, Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra. He also attended Mass with those assisting him in these days.
The Pope continued his therapy, as well as respiratory and motor physiotherapy. He is following the prescribed diet, which now includes solid foods.
His condition appears stable, with slight gradual improvements, as stated in Saturday evening’s medical bulletin. However, the overall situation remains complex, prompting doctors to maintain a guarded prognosis.
A medical bulletin is expected to be released on Monday evening, as it was not published on Sunday due to the stability of his clinical condition.

Pope Francis had a restful night as his clinical condition shows gradual, mild improvement, according to the Holy See Press Office on Sunday morning.
On Saturday evening, the Press Office said the Pope's blood tests revealed stable results, indicating that he is responding well to the prescribed therapies.
The Pope will follow the Lenten spiritual exercises, which begin on Sunday, in spiritual communion with the Roman Curia.

Pope Francis' health has remained stable over the past few days, and he carried out several work-related activities, according to the Holy See Press Office on Saturday evening.
"The Holy Father's clinical condition has remained stable in recent days, indicating a good response to therapy. A gradual, slight improvement has been observed," noted a statement.
"The Holy Father has not run a fever. Gas exchanges have improved, and blood chemistry and hematologic tests remain stable," it continued. "To ensure that these initial improvements continue in the coming days, the doctors have chosen to prudently maintain a guarded prognosis."
"This morning, after receiving the Eucharist, the Holy Father spent time in prayer in the chapel of his private apartment. In the afternoon, he alternated between rest and work activities."
Pope Francis was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital on February 14 to receive treatment for bilateral pneumonia.

“The night passed quietly; the Pope is resting,” read a statement.
The Holy Father’s clinical condition has remained stable for the past few days as he receives treatment for bilateral pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital.
On Friday evening, the Press Office said the Pope spent the day alternating between prayer, rest, and work, as his respiratory physiotherapy continues.
“During the day, the Pope uses nasal cannulas for high-flow oxygenation, while at night he utilizes non-invasive mechanical ventilation,” it noted, adding that his “prognosis remains guarded.”
A more detailed medical update is expected to be released on Saturday evening.

The Holy See Press Office provided an update on the Pope’s health on Friday evening, confirming that he is continuing his medical treatment, including respiratory physiotherapy. He alternates between non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night and high-flow oxygen therapy during the day via nasal cannula.
During the morning, the Pope spent about 20 minutes in prayer in the chapel on the tenth floor of the hospital, where his room is situated. Throughout the day, he also carried out some work-related activities.
Doctors say his health condition is stable within a still-complex overall picture. The prognosis remains guarded. As previously announced, no medical bulletin will be issued this evening due to the stability of his condition. However, a new medical update will be released tomorrow, Saturday, March 8.

Pope Francis' clinical condition remained stable today, and he did not experience any episodes of respiratory insufficiency, according to the Holy See Press Office on Thursday evening.
"The Holy Father has continued respiratory and motor physiotherapy with beneficial effects. Hemodynamic parameters and blood tests have remained stable. He did not run a fever. The doctors maintain his prognosis is guarded. Considering the stability of his clinical condition, the next medical bulletin will be released on Saturday. Today, the Holy Father engaged in some work activities in the morning and afternoon, alternating between rest and prayer. Before lunch, he received the Eucharist."

He spent Wednesday alternating between rest and work activities, and he called the parish priest of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza.
Pope Francis has been receiving treatment for bilateral pneumonia at Rome's Gemelli Hospital since he was hospitalized on February 14.
