"You can't buy your way into heaven"
The Bible teaches that you cannot buy your way into heaven; salvation is a gift from God received through faith in Jesus Christ, not through financial transactions. The concept of "buying" entry is explicitly rejected in verses like Acts 8:20, where Peter rebukes Simon for thinking he could purchase the "gift of God". While the Bible encourages using resources to help others and serve God, it makes clear that this is distinct from earning salvation.
Why you cannot buy your way into heaven
Salvation is a gift: The Bible states that salvation is a gift from God, not something earned by human effort or works.
Faith, not money: Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast".
Jesus is the only way: John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'".
Rejection of buying spiritual gifts: In Acts 8:20, Peter says to Simon, who offered money to gain spiritual power, "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!".
