A Saginaw, Michigan woman accused of using food stamp benefits to fund her home bakery has rejected a plea deal that would have kept a conviction off her record and is now headed toward trial.
Prosecutors say 32-year-old Talia Teneyuque misused more than $20,000 in Bridge Card benefits to purchase baking ingredients later sold through her business, Luvn a Jar. Investigators claim the purchases closely matched items promoted on her Facebook page, including cookies, cupcakes, and cobblers.
Teneyuque was offered a misdemeanor plea with probation and no permanent conviction if she repaid the money. She declined.
State investigators testified that sales records, social media posts, and benefit transactions suggested business use of food assistance.
A judge ruled there was enough evidence to move the case to Circuit Court. Teneyuque remains free on bond and now faces a felony charge punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Dear Secretary of State,
I am submitting this correspondence to formally report and request clarification regarding a business entity operating in Nevada that has failed to pay final wages, appears to be inactive, dissolved, or revoked, and is operating under multiple business names—making it impossible to determine accountability for wage recovery and enforcement.
I was employed for approximately two (2) weeks by an employer identifying itself as Convergent Resource Management LLC, located at 6325 McLeod, #4 Las Vegas, NV.
THEY COLLECT FOR EOS FITNESS.
Due to retaliation and the employer’s refusal to issue my final wages, I am now being forced to seek legal and administrative remedies.
While attempting to identify and serve the Registered Agent for this employer, Nevada Secretary of State records reflect that the business entity is dissolved, revoked, inactive, or otherwise non-compliant, and that multiple business names appear connected to the same operation, including but not limited to:
- Convergent Resource Management LLC – Entity No. NV20222659348
- Membership Services LLC – Entity No. NV20243131031
- Back Office Solution LLC – Entity No. NV20201891602
My pay stub reflects one entity name, while business operations and representations reflect others. As a result, I am unable to determine which legally valid entity is responsible for my wages. This lack of transparency and apparent misuse of business registrations directly interferes with my ability to recover wages and damages lawfully owed to me.
I resigned from my position with Convergent Resource Management LLC on December 23, 2025. At the time of separation, I was advised that my final paycheck would be issued within seven (7) days. As of January 22, 2026, more than thirty (30) days have passed, and I have not received my final wages.
This failure constitutes a direct violation of Nevada Revised Statutes, including but not limited to:
- NRS 608.020 – Requiring immediate payment of all wages due upon separation
- NRS 608.040 – Prohibiting the withholding of wages lawfully owed
- NRS 608.050 – Imposing penalty wages when an employer willfully fails to pay wages when due, including continued wages for up to thirty (30) days.
Despite notice, the employer has failed to render payment and has claimed a lack of knowledge regarding my final paycheck. Nevada law does not recognize ignorance, administrative delay, or internal error as a defense to wage withholding.
As a result of this continued noncompliance, the employer now owes:
1. All unpaid wages earned through December 23, 2025
2. Statutory penalty wages equal to thirty (30) days of pay, pursuant to NRS 608.050
3. Any additional compensation, hours, or accrued amounts required by law.
I have already filed a formal complaint with the Nevada Labor Commissioner and am revising and supplementing that complaint to reflect the employer’s continued failure to comply, the additional penalties now owed, and the unresolved entity-registration issues described herein.
As of today, by operation of Nevada law, wages continue to accrue from December 23, 2025, through the statutory penalty period.
This correspondence serves as notice and documentation of a business entity (or entities) operating without proper accountability, impeding wage enforcement, and potentially violating Nevada business registration and labor laws. I respectfully request review, clarification, and any appropriate action within your authority.
All future communication should be in writing.
Wage Penalty Calculation (For Record Purposes)
Hourly rate: $18.00
Standard workday: 8 hours
Daily wage:
$18 × 8 = $144.00
Statutory penalty wages (30 days):
$144 × 30 = $4,320.00
