Taking a Moment to Destress: February as My "Love Me" Month

January was nothing short of a rollercoaster—one of the busiest and most stressful months I’ve had in a long time. Between major events at the White House, working on various services, and continuing to build my business, I barely had a moment to breathe. Despite my efforts to stay focused and productive, I found myself facing unexpected obstacles—not from the usual business challenges but from people who seem to thrive on negativity.

It's truly astonishing how some individuals find any and every excuse to discriminate—whether it's due to religion, race, gender, political beliefs, or just plain hatred. Some people will go out of their way to bring others down simply because they can. But here’s the thing—I refuse to engage with that kind of ignorance. Energy is precious, and I choose to invest mine in things that uplift me, not drain me.

January’s Chaos and Challenges

Reflecting on January, I realize just how much I’ve been juggling. Managing events, handling business operations, and staying on top of marketing efforts took a toll on me. My days were filled with creating marketing tools, working on mailings, and handling various cases that required my attention. Each task demanded not only time but also mental energy, and by the end of the month, I felt completely drained.

One of the hardest parts was navigating the unexpected sabotage attempts. People I barely know—or those who follow from afar—decided they had the right to interfere in my business. Whether it was jealousy, a need to control, or simply bitterness, I found myself facing unnecessary roadblocks created by individuals with nothing better to do. It’s frustrating, but I’ve learned to take these moments as lessons rather than personal attacks. The stronger you become, the more some people will try to break you. The key is to keep moving forward despite their efforts.

Setting the Tone for February

That brings me to February—my self-proclaimed "Love Me Month." I’ve decided to dedicate this month to self-care, wellness, and recalibrating my focus. The stress of January has left me drained, and I know I need to pour back into myself if I want to continue building, growing, and succeeding.

This month, I plan to:

Treat myself to something special. Whether it’s a spa day, a solo getaway, or a simple moment of peace with a book and tea, I want to be intentional about celebrating myself.

Incorporate more wellness into my routine. This means cleansing—both physically and mentally. I’ve promised myself to juice more, eat healthier, and prioritize activities that make me feel good.

Limit negativity. That includes reducing my exposure to toxic people, unnecessary drama, and even overwhelming news cycles that do nothing but stress me out.

Work part-time while planning my next steps. January was a lot, and I don’t want to carry that same level of exhaustion into this month. Instead of overloading myself, I’ll focus on strategic moves that align with my long-term goals.

Mental and Emotional Cleansing

One of my biggest realizations from January is how much unnecessary stress we take on simply by engaging in things that don’t serve us. Whether it’s watching too much negative news, giving attention to the wrong people, or even just overloading ourselves with work, we sometimes create our own chaos without realizing it.

That’s why this February, I’m choosing to be more mindful about where I place my energy. Instead of diving deep into every news report or online debate, I’m opting to step back. The world is heavy enough without adding extra weight onto my shoulders.

I’ve already started making small changes—watching movies or streaming lighthearted content instead of consuming back-to-back news reports. The media thrives on negativity, and while it’s important to stay informed, I refuse to let it consume my peace.

Prayers for D.C. and Philadelphia

While I’m limiting my exposure to negative news, I can’t ignore the tragedies that have recently occurred. My heart goes out to those affected by the recent crashes in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Both cities are enduring hardships, and I can only hope that those impacted find the strength to heal and move forward. I’m keeping them in my prayers and sending love to all the families and individuals affected by these tragedies.

These moments serve as reminders that life is fragile. We never know what tomorrow will bring, so it’s important to cherish today.

Focusing on My Business Without Distractions

Despite the setbacks in January, I remain committed to growing my business. This month, I’ll be refining my marketing strategies, organizing mailings, and focusing on efficiency. But unlike last month, I won’t let stress or outside negativity interfere with my progress. I’m taking a more balanced approach—one that allows me to be productive without compromising my well-being.

Running a business is no easy feat. It requires patience, persistence, and resilience. I’ve had to remind myself that obstacles don’t mean failure—they mean growth. Every challenge I’ve faced has taught me something valuable, and instead of dwelling on the negatives, I’m choosing to focus on the lessons learned.

One of my biggest goals is to create a stronger foundation that allows my business to operate smoothly, even when life gets hectic. That means implementing better systems, refining my outreach methods, and ensuring that I’m not spreading myself too thin.

Moving Forward with Intention

This February, I’m making a conscious effort to move with intention. No more burnout. No more allowing negativity to take up space in my life. No more overworking myself to the point of exhaustion.

Instead, I’m prioritizing:

  • Self-love and self-care
  • Balanced work and rest
  • Growth without stress
  • Positive energy and meaningful connections
Life is too short to be consumed by things that don’t bring joy or progress. If January was a storm, February is my calm after it. It’s my month to realign, refresh, and focus on what truly matters.

Final Thoughts: A Reminder for Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed

If January was tough for you too, know that you’re not alone. We all have seasons where life feels overwhelming, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take control and shift our focus. If you’ve been feeling drained, make February your own “Love Me Month” as well. Treat yourself with kindness, step away from negativity, and make room for things that bring you peace.

This month, I challenge you to:
  • Set aside time for self-care
  • Reduce unnecessary stressors
  • Create a plan for what you want to accomplish, but don’t overburden yourself
  • Protect your peace and energy
Here’s to a February filled with love, healing, and fresh starts. Let’s make this month a good one!
